The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) has embarked on a multi-year, multi-departmental expansion in neuroscience and related areas of research. As part of this growth, the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track faculty position in the Neural Basis of Motivated Behavior. The appointed person will be expected to establish a strong neuroscience research program related to motivated behavior broadly defined utilizing one or many techniques including behavioral, physiological, and/or computational approaches.
Applicants must have completed the requirements necessary to have a PhD conferred in Psychological and Brain Sciences or a related discipline by the time of appointment. Preferred candidates will have an outstanding record or promise of research accomplishment commensurate with this stage in their career, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Prior experience in research related appointments such as Post-Doctoral Scholar is also desired.
