After completing my M.A. in Cognitive Science from Yonsei University in Korea, I crossed the Pacific to study at UCSB, following my passion for cultural psychology. I am currently working with Dr. Heejung Kim on cultural influences on human mind and behaviors. Particularly, my research questions include 1) how culture moderates psychological and behavioral expression of genes (gene-culture interaction), 2) how culture influences formation of lay theories and, in turn, how lay theories influence human behaviors, 3) how social class and social status influence psychological processes. In my free time, I like to watch movies and to read books. In addition, as many Koreans do, I love finding new nice restaurants and try their food.
