Professor David Sherman to be next President of International Society for Self and Identity

Professor David Sherman has been selected to be the next President of the International Society for Self and Identity (ISSI), which is an interdisciplinary association for social and behavioral scientists. Professor Sherman, a social psychologist at the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences , has been a faculty member since 2003 at UCSB. He studies how people respond to self-threatening information and events in their lives. Professor Sherman will serve a three-year term from 2016-2018 and succeeds Professor Jeff Greenberg of the University of Arizona, who will conclude his term in December.
