July 17, 2015

Jeff Bowen has been awarded a Heritage Dissertation Grant Award from the Foundation for Personality and Social Psychology. This award provides $1000 to fund his dissertation research. The Foundation awards only 6 grants each year. Jeff Bowen, who works in the lab of Dr. Nancy Collins described his dissertation: "This program of research investigates the role of cognitive abstraction (or "big picture" thinking) in relationship maintenance behavior. Investigations will explore how mental representation shifts when committed partners encounter relational threat, and if these shifts permit partners to address conflicts of interest within their relationships."
