Degree Requirements

Students in the Psychological & Brain Sciences program are required to complete a certain number of courses, research requirements, and milestones in order to be a candidate for the PhD degree. During the first two years, students take classes, complete research projects, and give an oral presentation. After students pass qualifying exams at the beginning of the third year, they have more flexibility in their schedule and typically begin to devote more time to research and dissertation activities.
