Computer skills of this sort are certainly useful to students, since the students will certainly be confronted with computers again in both education and in their careers. The development of these skills within a Fifth Dimension program is especially useful for lower income students, whose families may not have a computer for the student's use at home.

One note: The test, as written, uses pieces of software that may not be available at all Fifth Dimension sites, and the test can obviously be altered to make use of games and hardware existing at the test site.
