Immersive Stereo Panoramas

These are examples of 360 deg panoramas captured, constructed, and displayed using techniques I have developed. The method is simple and produces very compelling results especially when viewed within a head-tracked stereo head-mounted display. I'm am working on a tech report to describe the method. I've posted movie files of these which are not nearly as good as the uncompressed originals since the CODEC artifacts disturb the disparity content.

Below is the first panorama I made using this method. The eyeheight is low (about 4 ft) and the interpupillary distance was exaggerated at about 15 cm. Although the movie works, you're best off scrubing the time shuffle back and forth and reduce the playback jitters.

Here's another taken on the bluffs near UCSB. Jake Pierson was instrumental in photographing and stitching together this piece.
