The following applies to the experiment participation option for fulfilling the Psych 1/Psych 7 Research Requirement. Please refer to the Research Requirement handout for further details. If you do not have a copy of the handout, you may pick one up from the Psychological & Brain Sciences Front Office located in Psychology East, Room 1814, or email the Subject Pool Coordinator at wwwsubpool@psych.ucsb.edu.

Students wishing to participate in the Subject Pool must be 18 years of age or older, or have a parental consent form on file. This form is available at the Psychological & Brain Sciences Office.

Once you have enrolled in Psych 1 or Psych 7, an email containing your User ID and Password will be sent to your U-Mail account. If you have any questions about your U-Mail account, go to:

The first time you login to the site, you will see a policies page. Please review it, and continue if you agree to the terms. Be advised that once you are logged in, you will have access to a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, which should address most common questions and concerns. Questions not answered in your Research Requirement handout, or in the above-mentioned documentation should be directed to the Subject Pool Coordinator at wwwsubpool@psych.ucsb.edu.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that students with special needs have equal access to program information. If you are a special needs student requiring assistance in signing up for Subject Pool experiments, assistance is available in the Psychological & Brain Sciences Main Office located in Psychology East 1814, or you may email the Subject Pool Coordinator at wwwsubpool@psych.ucsb.edu.

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT and FOREIGN STUDENTS:

If you are a concurrent enrollment student (a student taking UCSB classes through University Extension), or a foreign student, your name will not appear on the registrar's class list for Psych 1 or Psych 7. Please email the Subject Pool Coordinator, or visit the Psychological & Brain Sciences Main office in Psychology East 1814, to obtain an account and login information for the Sona System.
