The following applies to the experiment participation option for fulfilling the Psych 1/Psych 7 Research Requirement. Please refer to the Research Requirement handout for further details. If you do not have a copy of the handout, you may pick one up from the Psychology Front Office located in Psychology East, Room 1814.

Students wishing to participate in the Subject Pool must be 18 years of age or older, or have a parental consent form on file. This form is available at the Psychology Front Office.

Once you have enrolled in the course, an email containing your User ID and Password will be sent to your U-Mail account. If you have any questions about your U-Mail account, go to:

The first time you login to the site, you will see a policies page. Please review it, and continue if you agree to the terms. Be advised that once you are logged in, you will have access to a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, which should address most common concerns. Questions not answered in your Research Requirement handout, or in the above-mentioned documentation should be directed to the Subject Pool Coordinator (wwwsubpool@psych.ucsb.edu).

SPECIAL NEEDS:

The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that students with special needs have equal access to program information. If you are a special needs student requiring assistance in signing up for Subject Pool experiments, assistance is available in the Psychology Main Office, Psychology East, Room 1814, or you may email the Subject Pool Coordinator.

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT/FOREIGN STUDENTS:

If you are a concurrent enrollment student (a student taking UCSB classes through University Extension), or a foreign student--and your name will not appear on the registrar’s class list for Psych 1/Psych 7--please email the Subject Pool Coordinator or visit the Psychology Main office, Psychology East, Room 1814, so you can be registered in the Psychology Research Participation Sign-Up system.
