Lab:
Visual Perception Laboratory (Foley)
Project:
Learning to Perform in a Virtual Environment
Description:
In virtual environments people greatly misperceive the locations of objects. This study is concerned with how people learn to behave adaptively in spite of this misperception. We measure the initial error and then examine to course of learning when error feedback is provided. The goal is to determine what is learned and how it is learned.
Duties:
Independent research students (199) will first be subjects in an experiment and then will conduct the experiment with other subjects. They will analyze and interpret the data in collaboration with the professor.
Additional Requirements:
3.0 grade point average, at least one course in perception, and basic computer skills.
