Basic Information

Grading Option:
First quarter => P/NP
Subsequent quarters =>P/NP or Graded

Course Requirement:
2 hours/day (10 hours/week)
A research paper (5-10 pages). Required the first quarter. Also required in subsequent quarters if you are taking it for a grade.

Procedure for Enrollment
1. Email Wade Schoonveld (schoonveld@psych.ucsb.edu) a copy of your class and work schedule
2. Go to the Psych Office to obtain a Psych99 (premajors) or Psych199 (Psych majors) signup form
3. Turn form into Wade and he will obtain a signature from Dr. Eckstein.

What Happens After Enrollment?
1. You will get an email from us the first week of class. This email will assign you to work with a particular researcher in the lab. You and the researcher then can arrange a meeting for your training session. After your initial training session, you will be expected to work independently in the lab without supervision.
2. You will also be informed of the first lab meeting. The day/time of the meeting will be arranged to fit your schedule.

Hours can flexible, as long as they add up to 10 hours/week.

A weekly lab meeting will be held to discuss the content of the paper. Do not worry too much about this requirement; we will help you with it.
