Research The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at UCSB cultivates an identity and reputation based on empirical, primarily experimental investigation of a wide range of human and animal behavior from a number of over-lapping perspectives. Faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students, and professional researchers carry out research in one or more areas: Cognition, Perception & Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental and Evolutionary Psychology, Neuroscience and Behavior, and Social Psychology. As a group, the faculty members have outstanding records of research productivity and a growing record of extramural funding. They receive both national and international recognition for their scholarly achievements, and are involved in cutting edge disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research. Research Areas
