Mangun at the Center for Neuroscience (UC Davis, California) on electrophysiological correlates of supramodal attention. After two years of evaluating the potential of interactive driving simulators for assessing and training driving fitness in neurological patients, he joined Prof. Christian Büchel’s research group at the Department of Systems Neuroscience in Hamburg. In 2005, he received his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) from Hamburg University for his work on the neural foundations of strategic effects during mental rotation and navigational learning.
