Andy Stull
Postdoc

Andrew Stull is a post-doctoral researcher collaborating with Professor Mary Hegarty on the cognitive and perceptual affects of employing concrete and virtual reality manipulables in science education. His previous work experience includes designing biotelemetry systems for monitoring the behavior of free-roaming marine animals, teaching biology at the high school and community college levels, and developing strategies for media integration for the textbook industry. He received his PhD from the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the summer of 2009 under the co-advisorship of Richard E. Mayer and Mary Hegarty. His research interests encompass multimedia design, diagrammatic reasoning, instructional technology integration, and teaching and learning in science domains as they relate to human cognition.
