Felix Rudert is a visiting researcher from the Friedrich-Alexander University
Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) in Germany. His research project at the Department
of Psychology at the UCSB is part of his Diploma-thesis, which is the
final thesis (comparable to a master thesis) in his studies in the field
of Information and Communication Technology. During his studies he worked
as a Java programmer for Siemens Transportation Systems in the department
for standardization as well as research assistant at the Chair of Multimedia
Communication at the FAU. Projects he was involved in include the research
of fading techniques for error concealment in coded video signals, frequency
selective error concealment in erroneous medical recordings and multi-view
video coding with the H.264. In 2007 he visited the UCSB the first time.
He had a student research project (comparable to the bachelor thesis)
at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for Professor
