Mark May is a visiting researcher from the Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg in Germany where he is Associate Professor of Psychology and Head of the Spatial Cognition Research Group and Experimental Laboratory. He received his Ph.D in 1992 from the University of Muenster (Germany). His main research interests are in human spatial cognition as well as human consciousness with an emphasis on the ecology of mind, brain and behavior. His research has been funded by different German and European research foundations as well as the Volkswagen Research Foundation. Mark May is spending sabbatical time at UCSB where he will be collaborating with Professor Jack Loomis who is sponsoring his stay.
