Elsa Ermer is a postgraduate researcher working with Professors Leda Cosmides and John Tooby at the Center for Evolutionary Psychology. Elsa received her B.A. (2000) in psychology with a Latin minor from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, and her M.A. (2002) and Ph.D. (2007) degrees in psychology from UCSB. Her dissertation used experimental economics, among other methods, to explore how coalitional support regulates people’s resource allocation decisions and feelings of entitlement. More generally, her research interests include coalitional psychology, psychology of status, risky decision-making, and cognitive neuroscience of social reasoning.
