Andy Delton is a researcher working with Leda Cosmides and John Tooby at the Center for Evolutionary Psychology. His research focuses on the psychology of human cooperation. One line of his research investigates how the mind makes decisions that involve sacrificing personal welfare to increase the welfare of others. Another line investigates the logic of collective action and coalitions. His research draws from a number of disciplines (e.g., social psychology, evolutionary biology, anthropology, experimental economics) and uses a variety of methods (e.g., laboratory experiments, cross-cultural tests, simulation studies, neuroimaging). In 2010, Andy received his PhD in psychology from UCSB, with emphases in quantitative methods, interdisciplinary human development, and cognitive science.
