Bianca Acevedo is a National Science Foundation postdoctoral researcher fellow, visiting from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, based in New York City. She obtained her PhD from SUNY Stony Brook, with a specialization in close relationships. Her research is largely in the field of social neuroscience and focuses on motivational and emotional substrates in close romantic relationships. Her work has explored the up and-down regulation of romantic love, in-depth investigation of long-term romantic relationships, and the neural correlates of long-term pair-bonding. She is currently collaborating with Professor Nancy Collins (in the close relationships laboratory) and Professor Scott Grafton (in the Brain Imaging Center) to carry out research on the neural underpinnings of pair-bonding in newlyweds.
