Skirmantas Janusonis received his B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biology/Biophysics from Vilnius University (Lithuania). He received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Behavior from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (2001), where he trained under the supervision of Dr. Katherine Fite. He did his postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Dr. Pasko Rakic at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he became interested in the neurobiological causes of autism. In 2002, his research proposal was awarded a fellowship from the National Alliance for Autism Research. He also developed a collaborative project with the Yale University Child Study Center aimed at understanding the causes of autism by integrating data from transgenic mouse studies, theoretical modeling and human clinical studies. In 2006, he joined the faculty of the UCSB Department of Psychology. Contact Information
