“In a recent article in the journal Contemporary
Educational Psychology”, Dr Richard E. (Rich) Mayer was named
the most productive researcher in the world in the field of Educational
Psychology. The ranking was based on the number of journal articles
during the period 2003 to 2008 in the top-ranked educational psychology
journals (Cognition and Instruction, Contemporary Educational Psychology,
The Educational Psychologist, Educational Psychology Review and
the Journal of Educational Psychology). Rich published 16 articles
in these journals over the period. Rich was also the most productive
educational researcher for the period 1997 to 2001. His former graduate
student, Roxana Moreno, who received her Ph.D. from UCSB in 1999
(now at the University of New Mexico) was ranked 14 in the same
analysis.
