Stan Klein, Professor, is the recipient of a UCSB Distinguished Teaching Award for 2007. Stan teaches very large enrollment undergraduate courses, a variety of graduate courses and mentors students in 3 of the 4 department graduate training areas. Stan noted, “I think it is very important to be excited about the material you present. Students’ interest in a subject is importantly related to the level of interest and engagement shown by the presenter.” This excitement resonates with both students and colleagues who describe Stan as brilliant, funny, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and as a legendary instructor in the Psychology Department.
