Richard Mayer received two awards from the American Psychological Association in 2008. The Award for Distinguished Contributions of Applications of Psychology to Education and Training recognizes a psychologist for evidence-based applications of psychology to education and training. The Presidential Citation was awarded by the President of APA in recognition of Professor Mayer’s leadership in the field of educational and cognitive psychology.
