After completing my Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Christian Büchel in Hamburg, Germany, I have been awarded a three-year Marie Curie Outgoing International Fellowship by the European Commission. I currently spend the first two years of this postdoctoral fellowship working with Professors Mary Hegarty and Jack Loomis at UCSB. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and virtual environment technology, we investigate brain mechanisms supporting fundamental aspects of spatial orientation in complex environments. In addition, I am interested in computational modelling and neurophysiological approaches to spatial cognition. Therefore, I have recently started a colloboration with Prof. Jeffrey Taube at Dartmouth College and the Complex Systems Research Group at UCSB. |
